KEEP WALKING: JOY WILL TAKE YOU FURTHER

Last Friday, September 18, 2015 I was invited to witness the launch of the incredible new campaign of one of the leading whiskey brands here in the Philippines, Johnnie Walker.

The campaign is well supported by global rosters from different walks of life including:

Haas and Hahn, duo that sets awareness for poverty through art.

Jenson Button, Formula One World Champion and Mclaren Honda driver

Jude Law, Award-winning Hollywood Actor

Johnnie Walker centers the attention of the campaign upon the real life successes of people who credit the power of Joy with taking them further, as the new campaign says, JOY WILL TAKE YOU FURTHER.

Joining these global personalities are two of our very own locals who excel in their respective passions.

The first Filipino to climb one of the Seven Summits, and the ONLY Filipino who has climbed all of them. He is also a scuba dive master, environmentalist, writer, and motivational speaker who continues his career as an IT professional while pursuing many different passions.

A daughter of one of country's iconic personality, Francis Magalona. Host, actress, blogger, photographer, model and one of the lead vocalists of Cheat.

Gear up and fasten your seat belts as De La Salle University's Business Management Society proudly presents ROUX 28, a much awaited fund-raising event happening on December 6, 2013, Friday 4pm onwards  at Circuit Makati where tons of activities lie ahead that will surely give you the ultimate social experience like the drive-in movie, food fest and a party as a celebration of its 28th year of cultivating young minds with holistic growth in producing future global business leaders.

Don't forget to invite your friends and families! Manila Maki

Due to my consistent use of my perks with Enjoy Philippines, they gave me a reward which was a dinner at Manila Maki.

Was planning to get this but they said that the voucher given by Enjoy Phils cannot be used to it... Too bad their promo has ended but I can feel more promos will come just stay updated with them through their facebook page:

This is how the restaurant looks like inside and featuring my friend, Lawrence Castro who helped me take photos that day. (P.S. Thank you!) 

The lighting is quite dim for a restaurant or maybe they are really going for that ambiance. 

On the left is their house blend ice tea which tastes a lot like bori tea which is good and very oriental and on the right is a buko lychee shake which has this perfect blending of the two flavors without compromising the other. These are huge by the way.

This is their Miso Soup. All of their food here has a local twist and as for this one they made it quite sour with a hint of tamarind.

This is their Sisigdon.

Bon Bon Chicken. What made this more special for me is the mayo sauce they put in it, it just taste perfect to me. 

Veggiedon which consists of different vegetables with nori strips and crab meat strips.

A last! The Manila Maki's Manila Maki. It is topped with a fresh slice of tuna and the inside consists of Kani Salad and Nilasing na Hipon. This is one of their house specialty and you can try it for a very affordable price of 245php.

As you can see we had to take a doggy bag because we didn't get to finish everything that 1000php voucher given by Enjoy Philippines can order so basically they're servings are big and many, I should've invited one more, but oh well, I believe Lawrence and I had a really foodgasmic time here and we recommend it to you guys!

Vaseline Men: Be The Man

Yes, I have blogged about another men grooming product before but as a blogger and also a consumer, it is best that we give ourselves options.

Grooming is an everyday routine where it can presumptively conclude on how our day will be for it is a big factor of the kind of confidence we will be having hence, we should be very cautious on choosing the right products.

I admit that I use different brands for every regimen, and as for this brand I can say that I am currently using their facial wash and glad to say that it's so far so good although I seem to have a skin reaction with their lotion and thus, I use the competitors' instead.

With the very pretty, Ms. Nikki Viola who opted to host the event. 

It is very important for men to use products that are specifically designed for men because our skin is said to be oilier and our pores to be larger in that event, we really need to follow the needs to skincare.

Chicken Charlie

One of the things I support are local businesses, I mean we Filipinos should be more enthusiastic in patronizing our own products more than those of the foreign's and so when I was invited to try Chicken Charlie last week I automatically said yes.

Chicken Charlie was established in 2010 with their pioneer branch in Quezon City and now has grown to 17 branches nationwide, yes, they are the first to introduce the Korean style double-fried chicken in the country.

This is Mr. Ifore Yu, the owner of Chicken Charlie.

By the way, its name is coined after his father.

This is the sample size of the Charlie's Bowl, I say it's very sufficient if you just want to have a quick dine.

This is the specialty of the house that you must try!

Although they are very popular for their double-fried chicken, they also have this very delicious Chicken Burger that is just as flavorful and satisfying.

 This one is my favorite! The Cheese dynamite! I just love that cheesy goodness matched with the zing spice of pepper.

To conclude our lunch, they served us three flavors of Charlie's pops: Green Apple, Mango Orange and Chocolate Oreo.
