Yesterday, February 25, 2012, Lawrence Castro and I attended AICI (Association of Image Consultants International)'s Seminar on The Art + Science of Image at Raffles, The Fort where we were given a broader spectrum of what being an image consultant is and how things work for image consultants and of course a revolutionary perspective on beauty with Dr. Vicky Belo.

The Association of Image Consultants International (AICI) is the leading and the largest professional association of personal and corporate image consultants worldwide. A non-profit organization, AICI is dedicated in advancing the level of professionalism and enhancing the recognition of image consultants. Their members counsel both individual and corporate clients on appearance, behavior, communication skills, etiquette and international protocol. As experts in image consulting, members guide clients to achieve their specific goals with authenticity, credibility and confidence.

Another thing that struck me was the idea that everyday we should always strive to make ourselves better in every field/area. Each and everyone of us is entitled to have that holistic growth and development.

You all know that I just turned 21 and so I entitled this as Emancipation since it is this age where boys become men... prospectively speaking.
Let not be mistaken because I am not separating from my family yet. (still have to graduate then take the board exams then lastly to succeed in my career, whatever my career would be).

Just so I am walking at the stage of my life where adulthood comes to attest; striving hard for independence and freedom.

Emancipation from others ideals and putting onto mine as direction.
Emancipation from expectations and speculations; turning and creating opportunities to my fate.

All that I can ask is for the good Lord to guide me as I tread through the future.

So for the first of 2012, we went to see my aunts from my mother side. It was really nice to catch up with them, it is really nice to spend time with family.

It is cool to break out from my usual neutral and safe toned outfits. This time I'll make my style fun since I will be turning 21 soon and I am not getting any younger so while I still have this so-called youth, I will make sure I have the best of it!

And you guys out there, try not to wear much of the blacks... I know they're cool and makes you look badass and hot and all but when you grow old you will be fed up with blacks and neutrals because they're the only hues that will look proper and appropriate.

There you go, Have fun with dressing up while "we" are young. Set those loud colored shirts out of the closet and let the world see how invigorating being young is.

So I went to Energie and Miss 60 store at Robinson's Manila to have them feature here in my blog (please do watch out for my blogpost about it) then I head to Megamall Ortigas for a very delicious dinner courtesy of YABU.

Now you guys would have known that I really like subtle colors usually of the neutral shades. I do this so I would end up something very classy looking but I am also very particular with details like the cuts and structures, now to give a twist to this look I had to wear a good cardigan then pulled out the sleeve of my inside sleeves and cuffed it so more structures would be shown giving it more edge to the style.

YABU Katsucraze All Over Again

I am back! Yabu is so good that I have to return immediately

and so you guys should too!

Lawryeng and I came late due to some things I have to do first.

This time we ordered unlimited lemonade instead of iced tea.

I tried their Dori and it was the best cooked Dori fish I ever tasted!

Lawryeng had their Kurobuta (the one I was supposed to have but I decided to have fish since I have been gaining so much weight).

Now this is what you do to the sesame seeds to have the best katsu sauce.

Thank you once again for a very delightful dinner! This is far the best katsu... oh and for ya'll information YABU is the only restaurant that gives you authentic katsu in the whole country yet!

By the way just a little bit more tidbit, Yabu's capacity is about 94 people but don't fret! I heard they will buy the one beside 'em making the place more conducive for your lunch/dinner business meetings or any special events. I also heard that they will be having branches soon and one of 'em is from the south! So for you people from the south do anticipate their opening!

Just a short briefing, Yabu Restaurant is owned by the father of Mr. Michael Concepcion of Greater Good, Mr. John Marie Concepcion.

Yabu just opened last month, November 11, 2011 to be exact.

I get to ask Mr. Mon Tecson, Yabu Restaurant Manager why they have named it as it is and he said that in Japanese, "Ya" means eight (8) and "Bu" means two (2).

Then I followed a question, why eight and two?

He simply answered: Because it is a perfect Ten (10).

and I must agree with him that YABU is a PERFECT TEN!

TRIBAL BONES FESTIVITY

This is the last University Student Council Week that I'd get to attend as a student.

USC - Makati will forever be a part of me, this is where I get to be honed more through my council adviser for two years, Dr. Maria Corazon L. Andoy whom I am very thankful of.

Since this is my last, I made sure that the event would be one of the best, and so I was able to give some items for the students (see previous posts).
